Local Processing

Files never leave your device. All magic happens in your browser.

No Uploads

We do not have servers to store your files. It's physically impossible for us to see them.

No Tracking

We analyze site traffic, but never your file content.

We built PDFNations with a single core principle: Your data belongs to you. unlike other tools that upload your documents to a remote server, we process everything locally.

1. Limited Server Usage

For the vast majority of our tools (like Merge, Split, Compress), we do not upload your files to any server. The processing happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly.

For select complex tools (like PDF Editor), we may process the file securely on our temporary servers. In these cases, your files are automatically deleted immediately after processing. We never store, read, or share your content.

2. Information We Collect

Since we don't process files on a server, we collect very little information:

  • Usage Analytics: We use anonymous analytics (like Google Analytics) to see which tools are most popular and to fix bugs. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
  • Device Information: Basic info like browser type and screen size helps us ensure the site works correctly on your device.

3. Data Retention

Zero Retention. For client-side tools, we never receive your files. For server-side tools, the file is held only for the duration of the processing request and is instantly purged upon completion. We do not maintain any long-term storage of user files.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies strictly for:

  • Remembering your theme preference (Light/Dark mode).
  • Saving your recently used tool settings (stored locally on your device).
  • Anonymous performance monitoring.

5. Third-Party Services

We may display non-intrusive advertisements to keep this service free. These ad providers may use their own cookies. However, they absolutely cannot access your files because your files remain sandboxed in your browser.
